Basic Mechanics[edit source]

When you just start your game most things will be locked. In order to start unlocking tabs and mechanics you will need to finish a quick tutorial and then progress through the game zones.

Each Area zone consists of specific amount of enemies that has to be defeated to go to the next one. Thy come in Waves and you can see Remaining Enemies counter at the top of the screen. Your current zone is shown in the following pattern: Difficulty: Easy, Galaxy 1, Solar System 1, Planet 1 Area 1. Each Planet has 9 areas to clear, each solar system 6 planets, and each galaxy 4 solar system and so on. same again in normal, hard and extreme. Short code for zone looks like this: 1-1-1-1-1.

When you just start out most things will require manual activation including moving your ship and shooting enemies, but over time you will unlock more and more automation options and QoL improvements that will make farming way easier.

Early into the game you will unlock several game machanics each one represented in it's own tab at the bottom game menu: Junk and Plasma.pngJunk and Plasma, Skill Points.pngSkill Points, Inventory and Items.pngInventory and Items, Prisoners and Citizens.pngPrisoners and Citizens, Light Year.pngLight Year, Black Hole.pngBlack Hole, Meteorite.pngMeteorite and Antimatter.pngAntimatter. All of them will unlock in the first hour of gameplay, you can go to their respective wiki page to learn more or follow this guide for short summary and tips on each mechanics.

Ultimate Beginners Video Guide that will lead you throught the early game and will explain most game mechanics:

Junk and Plasma[edit source]

In Junk and Plasma.pngJunk and Plasma tab you can purchase stat upgrades for Junk.pngJunk and Plasma.pngPlasma that you get from the defeated enemies.

Junk Upgrades gives a stat multiplier for a stat of your choosing.

Plasma Upgrades act as a multiplier for Upgrades, increasing the gains for all Upgrades for the current Stat.

If you just start work on your Attack and HP stats, after the Prestige it's a good idea to invest in Increased Junk, Exp and Plasma earned to get more drops from the enemies.

After your first prestige you will unlock Auto Buy for Junk and Plasma tab that will make your life a lot easier.

Skill Points[edit source]

Skill Points.pngSkill Points tab features QOL and stat upgrades where you can spend skillpoints earned for leveling up. You earn a skillpoint every 10 new levels at first and when you reach 800 exp required to lvl up it will be 2 skill points every 10 new levels.

Here you can unlock AutoMove to allow your spaceship to move left and right automatically for farming enemies and avoid enemy projectiles.

As for the first stat upgrades I advise to max out Increment Base Stats, Items Drop Chance and then work on Prisoner Pity and Passive Shield HP.

Prisoners and Citizens[edit source]

Prisoners Planet Overview

Prisoners and Citizens.pngPrisoners and Citizens tab allows you to manage your Prisoners and Citizens as well as recruit Armies.

You get a Prisoner every 1500 defeated enemy ships (can be decreased with skills) or with a very low chance of drop on enemy defeat. After you get a prisoner they will float on the battlefield until you collect them. If you quit the game they will disappear.

Prisoners come in 4 races: Okropoyds, Elarans, Malagasy and Misiks. By default their droprate will be governed by the Solarsystem where you defeat the enemies.

GIC Prisoners Drop Rate
Zones Okropoyds Elarans Malagasy Misiks
Solarsystem 1 100%
Solarsystem 2 50% 50%
Solarsystem 3 33% 33% 33%
Solarsystem 4 25% 25% 25% 25%

In the main interface you can see 4 planets, each one for their race. On the top of the planet is the number of Prisoners saved, in the brackets (amount of Citizens) generated per cycle. At the bottom of the planet is the current number of Citizens.

By clicking on the Planet or the tab on the right you can spend Citizens for upgrades.

For Okropoyds you would like to focus on the Damage increase and spend the rest of the Citizens for HP increase. It will drastically improve your combat capabilities. If you can upgrade Damage to lvl 75, third updrade increases Light Years Points Gained, which will be useful to get before the Time Travel.

Inventory and Items[edit source]

Inventory and Items.pngInventory and Items tab contain your inventory slots and items that dropped from the enemies. You can increase Drop chance via skills.

Equipping the items increases stat multipliers. You can equip infinite amount of items for the corresponding slot. When you equip an item, its multiplier is being added to the slot multiplier.

Later on you will be able to get different rarity items that will give you higher multipliers.

Light Years[edit source]

Light Years Math explained by the Dev

Light Year.pngLight Year is a tab of 1st prestige layer in Galaxy Idle Clicker called Travel Back in Time. Here you can see progress in the current run and how many lightyears it will generate.

Time Bonus changes during the run, quickly rising to 5x within the first 3 hours, then slowly progressing towards 20x at 24 hours mark, from this point onwards the multiplier will stop rising.

Best moment to Travel In Time:

  • Early Game:

Best strategy is to do quick 3 hour runs if your active, that should be enough time to reach the highest zone and maximize the other bonuses.

  • Mid Game:

When you start generating some armies by converting prisoners, it will be better to take advantage of the army bonus by bringing the Time Bonus to its maximum (24 hours)

  • Late Game:

When converting prisoners will give you easily 750 armies you should always do 24hr runs. To take the most out of it you should wait until you reach the zone required to unlock Light Years Bonuses.

With Each Light Years prestige, you increase stat multipliers that will help you to progress the game faster and further.

What gets reset on the Light Year Travel Back in Time Prestige:
